The Bible teaches that every local church should be under the oversight of a group of elders (also known as pastors). At the church of Christ in Freeport, we have four men specially chosen to shepherd God's flock.
| Bruce Harbach became an elder on November 9,2003. He is married to Karen and they have three children together: Katie, Doug, and Leanne. In addition to tending the sheep of the Lord's church, Bruce tends the family farm located just outside of town. |

Jeff White became an elder on September 17, 2006. He is married to Allison. Jeff also serves as evangelist here at the Freeport Church of Christ. Allison is a school teacher in the Freeport School District. They have one son, Ben, who is married to Cassandra. Jeff and Allison have one grandson Liam. |

| Rodger Watts became an Elder on January 30, 2011. Rodger is married to Diane. Diane is an interior decorator and in business with Rodger. They have two children, Brianna (married to Chase Hendley) and Tyler. Rodger is retired from Verizon. |
